What is included

The exhaust shroud is already included with a new Avalon Q. Do not add the standalone shroud unless you need an additional or replacement shroud for another miner.

Actual hashrate, power draw, temperature, and noise vary with firmware, settings, ambient conditions, and ventilation.

Electrical and heat requirements

The Avalon Q is a high-power appliance and produces substantial heat. Confirm that the receptacle, branch circuit, wiring, and continuous-load capacity are appropriate for the operating mode you intend to use. Do not run Maximum mode on an undersized circuit. Consult a licensed electrician if you are unsure.

Keep intake and exhaust paths open. Use the included shroud with properly sized ducting when you need to direct heat out of the room. Duct, clamp, and hose are not included.

Setup

1. Place the miner on a stable surface with clear intake and exhaust space.
2. Connect Ethernet or configure supported Wi-Fi using Canaan’s current setup instructions.
3. Connect the included power cord to an appropriate circuit.
4. Configure your preferred SHA-256 mining pool or solo-mining endpoint.
5. Select an operating mode, then monitor power, temperature, fans, and network stability.
6. If ducting heat, mount the included shroud and verify that the duct does not restrict airflow.

Mining expectations

Bitcoin mining revenue is variable. It depends on network difficulty, total network hashrate, pool terms, uptime, fees, bitcoin price, and your electricity cost. Solo mining is probabilistic and has no guaranteed block timeline. A successful Bitcoin block earns the block subsidy in effect at that time plus transaction fees, subject to the mining method or pool used.

Yes. One exact-fit CryptoCloaks exhaust shroud is included with every new Avalon Q from CryptoCloaks. Select the outlet size needed for your setup. Duct, clamp, and hose are separate.

Can I use a normal US outlet?

The included US cord fits a standard NEMA 5-15 receptacle, but safe operation depends on the selected power mode and the circuit’s continuous-load capacity. Maximum mode draws substantially more power than Eco mode. Confirm the circuit before use and consult an electrician if uncertain.

Does this guarantee mining profit?

No. Mining results change continuously and depend on network conditions, electricity cost, uptime, pool terms, bitcoin price, and other factors.

Can it solo mine?

Yes, it can point to a compatible solo-mining endpoint. Solo mining is probabilistic; there is no reliable or guaranteed block-finding schedule.
