The CryptoCloaks Avalon Q exhaust shroud connects the miner’s exhaust to a 6-inch or 8-inch duct. It gives you a connection for routing exhaust. It does not guarantee a quieter miner, lower temperatures, or a smaller electric bill.
Check whether you already have a shroud
The current Canaan Avalon Q miner from CryptoCloaks includes one exact-fit exhaust shroud with a choice of 6-inch or 8-inch outlet. Buy the standalone shroud only if you need an additional or replacement part. Duct, clamp, and hose are separate from the miner package.
What the Avalon Q shroud fits
- Miner: Canaan Avalon Q. The shared Canaan name does not establish compatibility with a Nano 3, Nano 3S, or Mini 3.
- Material: PETG, not aluminum.
- Outlet: choose the 6-inch or 8-inch version when ordering. It is not one adjustable outlet.
- Available colors: Orange, Yellow, White, or Black. Check the product selector for your chosen combination.
Confirm the mounting arrangement against your miner before fitting the part. Do not assume a separate adapter ring, bolts, or a printed installation guide are included with the standalone shroud.
6-inch or 8-inch: match the complete duct route
Choose the outlet around a suitable exhaust plan, not just the smallest opening available. The 6-inch selector carries the caution “You know what you’re doing.” Check restrictions and operating conditions before choosing it.
Neither size guarantees a specific airflow, temperature, noise level, fan speed, or hashrate. Long runs, tight bends, and restricted outlets can change airflow. There is no universal duct length that makes every installation suitable, and a shroud does not fix an unsuitable route.
Heat and power: use the selected mode
The current CryptoCloaks Avalon Q listing gives these approximate operating figures:
- Eco: 54 TH/s at 800W.
- Standard: 72 TH/s at 1,300W.
- Maximum: 90 TH/s at 1,674W.
Actual power, hashrate, heat, and noise vary with firmware, settings, ambient conditions, and ventilation. Confirm the receptacle, branch circuit, wiring, and continuous-load capacity for your selected mode. Consult a licensed electrician if you are unsure.
Supporting supplies
Once you have a suitable route, match the duct and clamp to the selected outlet. These are supporting supplies, not a tested kit for every installation:
- Matching duct: 6-inch flexible aluminum duct options or 8-inch flexible aluminum duct options. Check the selected supply’s suitability for the installation rather than buying a fixed recommended length.
- A suitable stainless-steel duct hose clamp sized for the connection.
- Separate duct support and an appropriate exhaust exit for your installation.

Before fitting and restarting
- Power down and unplug the miner before fitting the adapter.
- Check the part against your unit and confirm the mounting arrangement before tightening anything. Do not force a mismatched fit.
- Use matching ducting and a suitable clamp. Support the duct separately so its weight does not pull on the printed shroud.
- Keep intake and exhaust paths clear and check the complete route for restrictions.
- After restart, monitor temperatures and fan behavior. Follow the miner’s operating limits and stop to inspect any softening, looseness, or unusual temperature change.
PETG describes the material. It is not a fire rating or a guarantee that the part suits every exhaust temperature.
What results should you expect?
The shroud’s job is to connect exhaust to ducting. Temperature, fan behavior, noise, and mining performance depend on the complete setup. Do not treat a particular sound level, room-temperature drop, cooling-cost saving, payback period, or service life as a promised result.
Without a suitable duct route, fitting the shroud alone is not an automatic cooling upgrade. If you do not need to route the exhaust, do not buy it just because the miner runs warm.
