The Avalon Q exhaust shroud connects the Canaan Avalon Q’s exhaust to a 6-inch or 8-inch duct. Use it when you want a duct connection instead of leaving the miner’s exhaust undirected in the room. The printed adapter provides the connection; the rest of the exhaust route still needs to suit your installation.

Plan the duct before choosing an outlet

Choose the diameter that matches a suitable exhaust plan, not just the smallest opening available. The 6-inch selector carries the caution “You know what you’re doing.” Treat that as a reason to check restrictions and operating conditions, not as a default recommendation for home use.

Neither outlet size guarantees a particular temperature, fan speed, noise level, or hashrate. Long duct runs, tight bends, and restricted outlets can change airflow. A shroud does not make an unsuitable duct route suitable.

Installation checks

Power down and unplug the miner before fitting the adapter. Check the part against your unit and confirm the mounting arrangement before tightening anything. Do not force a mismatched fit or assume a hardware revision has the same attachment points.

Use matching ducting and a suitable clamp for the connection. Support the duct separately so its weight does not pull on the printed shroud. Check that the path is unobstructed, then monitor temperatures and fan behavior after restart.

PETG identifies the printed material; it is not a fire rating or a guarantee for every exhaust temperature. Follow the miner’s operating limits and stop to inspect any softening, looseness, or unusual temperature change.
